Marketing & Operations Manager
Helen is Nick’s sister and she successfully set up and established our Lettings Department back in 2013. Having spent much of her career prior to DY working in marketing, Helen now heads up our Marketing & Operations department. This suits her organisational skills, creativity and keen eye for detail perfectly! She loves taking long walks with her Labrador Finn and when time permits, travelling and visiting new places around the globe.
Top of my bucket list is…
To keep travelling, visit more new countries and ultimately, one day explore Europe in a (very comfortable!) camper van.
My guilty pleasure…
Ben & Jerry’s cookie dough ice cream. Probably best to just not buy it!
On Sunday morning, you can usually find me…
Up bright and early for a long dog walk in the countryside.
My worst fashion mistake was…
I grew up in the 80’s – far too many to mention!
When I was younger, I wanted to be…
Less shy/more confident. Still working on it…
You might be surprised to know that…
One of my earliest qualifications as a teenager was as a Clarks trained shoe fitter. Oh, all those back to school shoes!

The Steer Property Group, the independent group behind Tim Russ, has completed the acquisition of Duncan Yeardley and Sears estate agents from Nick Thring. The acquisition completed on 1 October 2026.
Duncan Yeardley and Sears will continue to trade under their own names, with the same team, from all four of their offices. For their landlords, tenants, vendors and buyers, it is business as usual.
The acquisition brings together people who know and trust each other. Vince Courtney, Managing Director of the Steer Property Group, has known Nick Thring since 2012, and has lived and worked locally for 30 years. It is the group’s second acquisition, following Tim Russ & Co in 2024, and takes the Steer Property Group to three brands, nine branches and 100 team members across Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.
Nick Thring, Managing Director, Duncan Yeardley and Sears, said:
“Deciding to sell was a big decision. I have loved running Duncan Yeardley and Sears, and I’m very proud of what the team and I have achieved as we’ve grown over the last few years. It feels like the right time, but my priority was always finding the right buyer. I truly believe Vince and Ben are the right people to take the business forward. Our values are closely aligned, and I know they will look after our team and our clients as well as we have. I wish them every success.”
Vince Courtney, Managing Director, Steer Property Group, said:
“I’ve known Nick since 2012, when the agency I was running at the time acquired a business he was a director of, and I’ve watched him build and grow a great business ever since. I’ve lived locally for 30 years, and for most of that time I ran a major local estate agency, so I know these areas, I know many of the team, and I know how strong Duncan Yeardley and Sears are. After Ben and I acquired Tim Russ in June 2024, we were keen to bring another good business into the group, and this felt like a natural fit, built on trust and shared values. This is my 40th year in estate agency, and I’m as excited about this as anything I’ve done. Ben and I are committed to keeping Duncan Yeardley and Sears exactly as they are, with the same people looking after clients in the same way.”
Ben Steer, Operations Director, Steer Property Group, said:
“Vince and I are delighted that Duncan Yeardley and Sears have joined the Steer Property Group. Nick has built a formidable business over the last 14 years, and bringing it into the group was an easy decision. Duncan Yeardley and Sears share our principles and culture, and are backed by a team of tremendous quality with exceptional leadership. Following our acquisition of Tim Russ & Co in 2024, this is a big step in our ambition to grow the Steer Property Group as a truly independent business across Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. We’d like to thank Nick for trusting us with the business and wish him all the very best for the future.”
We would like to reassure all our clients, both current and future, that nothing changes for you. The same team will continue looking after you from the same offices, and everything is staying just as it is.
